Premier Training for BC’s Next Generation of Players

outdoor youth soccer training

Since 2014, Premier Soccer Academy has anchored its outdoor training program at our full-size grass pitch. Today, we now host 7+ teams and training groups during the Spring, Summer, and Fall, making it the cornerstone of our outdoor development environment.

Technical and tactical development:

The natural grass field provides an ideal playing surface for ball control, first touch, dribbling, passing drills, small-group rondos, and full-team tactical sessions. Because many elite-level matches are played on grass, training here helps players adapt to conditions they’ll often face at club, college, or semi-pro levels.

Professional-grade equipment & goalposts:

From U14 and up, we’ve installed regulation-sized goals and supply all on-field equipment — cones, agility ladders, speed hurdles, training bibs, and more — to replicate match-like sessions.

Speed, agility, and running-technic coaching:

Our dedicated speed & agility coach works with athletes from U11 to U21 to improve acceleration, deceleration, change-of-direction, and proper running form. This builds foundational athleticism that supports not only soccer but overall athletic performance.

Year-round scheduling with seasonal flexibility:

During mild spring and fall weather, the outdoor pitch allows full-team sessions and small-group training. As winter approaches and daylight shortens, we transition to our indoor facility, ensuring consistent training regardless of season.

During the winter months from October 15th to March 15th, our training seamlessly transitions indoors to the 7,000 sq ft activity center in the heart of Port Coquitlam. Since 2020, this space has served as the heart of our indoor futsal and soccer development program.

Futsal-focused training to build technical mastery:

Indoor sessions emphasize futsal-style play - tight spaces, quick passing, first-touch refinement, spatial awareness, and rapid decision-making. These elements are crucial for developing ball mastery, agility, coordination, and high-speed cognition, especially in small-sided game environments. This complements our European-style training methodology and enhances players’ technical foundation.

Year-round training continuity - rain, snow, or shine:

Our indoor facility ensures that bad weather or short daylight hours never interrupt development. Players maintain their training rhythm during Canadian winter, improving endurance, ball control, tactical awareness, and overall soccer IQ even when outdoor fields are unavailable.

Multi-use space for soccer, futsal, and conditioning:

Beyond futsal and indoor soccer matches, our facility accommodates technical drills, small-group training, agility circuits, and strength & conditioning crossover sessions, providing a holistic environment for athletic growth.

Convenient, community-oriented location:

Situated in Port Coquitlam, our location offers convenience for players and families. This accessibility supports high attendance, punctuality, and consistency which is important for long-term development.

Our dedicated indoor strength & conditioning space is designed to complement technical and tactical training with physical development, athleticism, and injury resilience.

Tailored strength, conditioning & rehab programs:

Whether it’s off-season strength cycles, pre-season power building, in-season maintenance, or rehab after injury, players receive targeted sessions. The controlled environment is ideal for progressive overload, mobility work, core stabilization, and injury prevention. All essential for long-term athletic development.

Small-group and one-on-one focus for athlete development:

We offer personalized attention from coaches to ensure proper technique, form, and gradual progression. This individualized approach aligns with PSA’s philosophy of “developing the individual player within the team context.”

Performance foundation for technical training:

Strength, power, endurance, and overall athleticism strongly influence on-field performance. By combining gym work with soccer-specific training (ball skills, agility, tactical sessions), our players build a complete athletic profile that supports faster, stronger, more resilient soccer performance.
